Mission Statement: |

The
major objective is to stimulate new multidisciplinary research and the
development of cutting-edge computing tools to solve problems in biology. The
critical biomedical research areas to be addressed are diagnosis and treatment
of cancer and infectious diseases, environmental toxicology, neurobiology
imaging, molecular modeling in drug design and structural biology. The
computational areas include data integration and information retrieval, high
performance computing algorithms, new tools for image analysis and molecular
modeling. The multidisciplinary research will provide superior tools for
detection and treatment of disease, detection of toxins and bioremediation, and
improved knowledge of the molecular mechanisms producing disease and the neural
mechanisms of behavior.
